U14 Boys vs Fermoy – 23rd Sept 2017 – Div 2
- Updated: 25th September 2017
U14 Boys 4-1 Fermoy – CSL Division 2
The U14’s were coming into this league game after a 6-3 defeat in the National Cup to Premier side Lakewood. The Fermoy team settled into the game quicker and got their reward by going 1-0 up early into the half. Bandon reacted well to this with the pace and bravery of Jack Callan causing problems for the Fermoy defence. Callan got his reward before half time bringing the game level. Half time 1-1.
Second half Bandon went in search of their second and once again it came from Jack Callan. Fermoy came back at the Bandon defence and with some point blank saves from keeper Jack Cullen as well as clearances of the line from the defence of Aaron O’Reilly, Robbie O’Brien, Shane McCarthy and Zack Canniffe. The Bandon boys kept the Fermoy strike force at bay with Calum McCourt and Jack Murphy closing down every opportunity. Some great play from the right side of the pitch between Diarmuid O’Driscoll, Paul Nnuton and Joseph Buttimer created Bandon’s third with O’Driscoll finishing giving Bandon a 3-1 lead.
Bandon were made work for their next goal as Fermoy came again but once again Jack Cullen stood tall in between the sticks and kept the Fermoy attack out. The last goal was another well worked goal and this time it was Nnuton who hit the back of the net.
Full time 4-1
