4th April 2013
The game was played in cold hard/ bumpy pitch which made it hard to get it down and play. Castleview opened the scoring from a free kick half volleyed into the bottom corner and from Bandon’s perspective it was a poor goal to concede. But this motivated Bandon and they showed great character and replied immediately from a penetrating pass from Richard Holland and an excellent finish from Brendan Cullen. Richard Holland added the second from a forward pass from brother Sean and Richard turned and clinically finished into the bottom corner. The game was 2-1 at half time. The second half saw Bandon press on and the third came through Richard holland who finished clinically from some excellent build up play. The fourth came from a kick out from Hurley who found Richard Holland and he passed to Sean Holland and he curled the ball into top corner from 25 yards with the keeper routed to the ground. Bandon added a 5th from Brendan Cullen after another excellent kick out from Hurley and a cross from Holland headed home by Cullen. Substitute Mick Bradfield scored with his first touch from some excellent build up play and a great overlapping run and strike into the top corner. Bandon were in top form and are now second and 3pts ahead in the promotion race. In top form for Bandon was Sean Lordan, Sean Holland, Richard Holland, Keith Holden, Jerry Lynch and Benny Lynch.
Bandon next fixture is against Ringmahon in Bandon at 2.30pm Saturday, the reverse fixture saw Bandon winning in Mahon 1-0. With both sides aspirations of promotion the game is a huge one with both sides only having four games to go in the league.
