Douglas Hall 3-4 U12 Girls – 19th April 2014

Bandon travelled to Douglas Hall for their first game after coming out of a tough group. Bandon started the game well and were unlucky not to score early on. Douglas went ahead 15 mins into the half and this goal is definitely a contender for goal of the season. Bandon went in search of their own. The Bandon girls got their reward with a chipped shot by Kate Mc Laughlin. The rest of the half went the way of a strong Douglas side who got two more goals before the break.

Bandon went out in the second half determined to get on the score board again. The back line of Anna Daly, Aoife Harrington and Orla Trunwit together with keeper Maeve O’Driscoll were kept under pressure. Bandon made a tactical change bringing Harrington into centre mid and moving Eimear Crowley back. Harrington and Izzy Canniffe worked well together and set up Veronica Endepu for a perfectly placed shot. This was the start of the Bandon come back. Daly gave a ball down the line to Sarah Buckley who knocked it onto McLaughlin who netted her second and Bandon 3rd for the day. Game on! It was Bandon who got the winner with 2 minutes to go. A ball over the top from centre back Crowley meant McLaughlin could run onto the ball and volley into the back of the Douglas net. Bandon had to hold onto their lead as Douglas went on one last attack.
