Bandon 0-1 Carrigaline

23rd November 2012

The game saw Carrigaline looking for their first 3 points in the league. A win would have seen Bandon go 4 pts clear on top. Bandon started the brightest with Brendan Cullen testing the keeper in the opening 3 minutes. Bandon came close again through Holden whose header went just over. The game was tight at 0-0 at half time but Carrigaline had kept the ball well at times in the first half but struggled to create clear cut opportunities.

The second half saw Bandon push for the lead and in doing so Carrigaline countered and scored from what can only be described as a scrappy goal. Bandon reacted to this and pushed hard and were unlucky not to score trough Holden, Sullivan and Cullen. In the end the game finished on a scrappy note with yellow cards being brandished as Carrigaline tired. Yellow soon turned to red for Carrigaline and they held on in the final 3 minutes of the game with ten men to gain their first 3 pts.

Bandon now move to Intermediate Cup Action next week in the 3rd Round with an away tie to Ringmahon Rangers.
