Bandon travelled to Douglas for there 2nd league game of the season. The game started with Douglas applying the pressure from the first whistle. Bandon back line of Rebecca Crowley, Aoife Hurley, Jane Twomey and Aiden lynch, made sure Douglas Halls forwards were kept scoreless until the 30th minute. Bandon went into the second half 1-0.
In the second Bandon came out in the second and applied the pressure with great play in the centre of the park from Kerri Buckley, Kate O’Donovan, Katie Desmond and Nicole Quinn all combing well and Douglas back line were put under pressure with Sophie Hurley unlucky not to able to convert chances. Eventually Bandon got their reward for all the pressure when Quinn got the ball on the left wing and took a shot only to be denied by the post only that Leah Buckley was on the back post to tap it in. So with 25 minutes left Bandon were back in the game. Then a lovely kick out by keeper Grainne Cowhig to Kate O’Donovan who found Leah Buckley who struck a lovely shot which went straight into the top corner, 2-1 to Bandon. Douglas immediately applied the pressure from the tip off, in search of a equaliser. Douglas got there reward for there pressure as in the dying minutes they got a free kick just inside Bandon’s half and with the wind behind the hall girls they took full advantage of it and hit the ball into the back of the net. Bandon searched for a late winner but where unlucky as they were denied by the ref’s whistle.
Best for Bandon were: Kate O’Donovan, Rebecca Crowley and Aideen Lynch.
