Passage 0 – 3 Bandon – Munster Senior Cup Last 16

7th December 2012

Both teams went into the game with aspirations of a place in the Qtr final and the possibility of a competitive draw against professional Airtricity league teams Cork city, Waterford and Limerick. Passage had home advantage and the under dogs tag but it was Bandon that started brighter pressing high up the pitch, and it wasn’t long before pressure for Richard Holland and a quality ball wide by Harrington that found Holland who crossed and Brendan Cullen finished with a fine headed goal. Bandon drove on from here and were unlucky not to add a second only for some good saves and some last ditch defending with both Hollands, Ron Moore and Sean Lordan all unlucky not to add to Bandon’s tally.

Halftime saw the game at 1-0 and passage pressed for an equaliser but Darren Cullen was in fine form in the second half and with Hurley in mean mood he was unlikely to concede at any stage. Passage best efforts came from shots from distance and after a few efforts Bandon got a second wind and pushed on, and it wasn’t long before Cullen won an aerial ball and linked with Holland on a one two and Richard Holland finished into the bottom corner. The third goal came when John Sullivan placed a free kick into the far bottom corner and. Bandon finished the game with the clean sheet and a place in the Qtr final.

In top form for Bandon was Ger Harrington and in the second half Darren Cullen, but Man Of The Match was Sean Holland.
