U16 Boys 7-0 St. Mary’s 15th April 2014

Bandon Under 16 team continued their unbeaten run and maintained their top of table position with a victory over St Mary’s. St Mary’s came with a determination to make it difficult for the home team. The first half was hotly contested with few chances for both teams.

After the restart Bandon moved up a gear and after five mins went ahead Denzil Fernandez scored after been put through by his brother Daniel. Eoin Nolan put the home team two up with a cool finish with his left foot to give the keeper no chance. After 55 mins it was 3-0 when Denzil outrun the defence and shot to the roof of the net. Denzil then completed his hat trick after good work on the left by Daniel and the same two combined again to put Bandon five up. Denzil after 65 mins scored again after a great long ball by James Kelleher. Alex Eames finished the scoring when he got on the end of a corner kick to finish well.

All players played well but mention must go to our excellent defence of Brian O’Connell making a rare appearance on goal Joe Gibson, Jack Kelly, James Kelleher and Peter Blake. Up front both Eoin Nolan and Denzil Fernandez worked very hard.
