U16 Boys 7-6 Watergrasshill 5th October 2013

Bandon had their first home league game and it turned out to be a a great game. Bandon started very well and had goals from Denzil Camillo and Jordan McCabe within 8 mins to go two up. Watergrasshill then scored to make it 2-1 but McCabe was on fire and he slotted home two more goals to make it 4-1 after 16 mins. In the space of five minutes Watergrasshill had two goals both as a result of sloppy defending to make it 4-3 after 33 mins. Denzil Fernandez then scored a wonderful goal with a run from the halfway line to put Bandon 5-3 up. The scoring was not finished for the first half because Watergrasshill struck twice before half time to leave the sides level at 5 all at the break.
Things settled down in the 2nd half and Bandon dominated the game and were rewarded when McCabe scored after 47 mins to put the home side one ahead. The lead did not last as the visitors broke away to level at 6 all. Bandon were now the better team and got the deserved winner when Fernandez scored after 66 mins to leave Bandon winners 7-6. A great game and powerful goal scoring displays by Fernandez and McCabe. Great credit to Bandon for never giving up and getting their reward at the end.
