On Saturday afternoon Bandon traveled to C.I.T to play Midleton in the U17 Shield final. Bandon would have been considered the Underdogs for this game as Midleton play in the Premier with Bandon in the 1st division. However Bandon did not let this put them off and took the game to Midleton from the start. In the 1st minute Bandon won a free kick which Orla Deasy who just shot over. 5 mins later a great ball through by Emily Holland found Rachel Kearney who produced a good save from the keeper but was just adjudged offside. On 20 mins more good work by Emily Bolster found Ella Donegan with again the Midleton keeper saving well. On 26 mins a ball over the top by Midleton found their pacey forward who scored the 1st goal . Midleton were now growing into the game with Cliodhna Prendergast pulling off a great save in the Bandon goal. Despite good play from Bandon it stayed 1 nil to the half.

The 2nd half started like the 1st with Orla Deasy winning a free kick in the 1st minute but shooting over. In a half that brought some very industrious play from Bandon through Bolster, Harrington, Deasy and Maebh O’Flynn in midfield it unfortunately bore no fruit. Bandon forwards Rachel Kearney and Leah White Hoey came close with the Midleton keeper saving well. Another great move from Deasy was spilled to the edge of the box with Aoife Harrington producing a fine save from the keeper.
Some fine work by Ella Donegan produced a scramble in the Midleton box which was eventually cleared. In a game where Cliodhna Prendergast was excellent in goal, had a defence in front of her well marshalled by the impressive Holly Warren aided by the hard working Anna Daly, Kate Weblin and Niamh Mulcahy Bandon kept on trying but with no luck. Another break by Midleton but Orla Trunwitt snuffed out this chance.
It remained this way to the end with Bandon unable to get that goal back.
It finished Midleton 1..Bandon 0.
