Seniors 3-3 Ballinhassig MSL Division 1
Bandon entered the game looking to add to their point from last week. They could have opened the scoring too after a few minutes but Cullen sent it over from close range.
Midway through the half, Ballinhassig were creating the chances. Their front man with a good strike from edge of box but it was well saved by Ronan Crowley. 4 consecutive corners followed but the home defence stood up well.
With 30 minutes gone, Bandon hit the front. Lee Holland with a super ball in and a wonderful finish from Brendan Cullen on the half volley to make it 1-0.
Minutes later and Bandon doubled their lead. Jack O Donoghue stole the ball from the Ballinhassig keeper and scored with a neat finish.
Just before the break, a long ball from Ronan Crowley set Mark Murphy through. He cooly chipped the away keeper to make it 3-0.
The second half was a tight affair. Ballinhassig struck the cross bar from distance and moments later they pulled one back. 3-1 with 10 minutes to go.
With 4 minutes to go Ballinhassig had pulled back a second goal. 3-2.
Heading towards injury time, a penalty was awarded for Ballinhassig. 3-3. Very disappointing having been 3 up. This was the way it finished. A point a piece.
