Bandon met Midleton in the Under 16 league on Tuesday night with Bandon hoping to keep their lead intact at the top of the table. Both teams started slowly and Bandon dominated play but were shocked when Midleton went one up after 20 mins when sloppy defending saw the visitors score. It took Bandon ten mins to draw level when Denzil Fernandez scored after a good ball from defence by James Kelleher . Denzil put Bandon two up shortly before half time with a superb goal made by Daniel Fernandez and a cross by Eoin Nolan.
Shortly after half time it was 3-1 when Denzil struck again. After 50 mins Eoin Nolan made it four for Bandon when he finished well inside the box. Bandon were now in total control and Denzil scored two more to bring his tally to a superb 5 goals . On the stroke of full time Nico Roche scored his first goal for Bandon to make the final score 7-1.
Overall a good display by Bandon with Shane Collins, Joe Gibson, Peter Blake and Daniel Fernandez playing well but Man Of The Match had to be Denzil Fernandez not only for his goals but his general play.
